About the Event

World Junior Baseball Championship Facts

  • International Baseball Federation (IBAF) 18U World Junior Baseball Championship.
  • A total of 46 games are played in the Championship between Port Arthur Stadium and Baseball Central. Tournament dates are July 23 to August 1, 2010.
  • The twelve National teams confirmed for this summer include USA, Cuba, Venezuela, Panama, Australia, Italy, Netherlands, France, Czech Republic, Korea, Taiwan and of course Canada.
  • The event’s hockey counterpart is the World Junior Hockey Championship. The soccer counterpart, the FIFA Under 20.
  • Event began in 1981, and took place every year until 1997 when the IBAF switched to a two-year format between Championships.
