2010 IBAF World Junior Baseball Championship

Cultural Festival

Bringing Our Culture to The World

The Arts & Heritage Alliance of Thunder Bay (AHA) and the Thunder Bay International Baseball Association (TBIBA) proudly present the World Cultural Festival supporting the 2010 IBAF World Junior Baseball Championship

Our Mission

The mission of the festival is to create a community based cultural event that enhances the experience of guests attending the 2010 World Junior Baseball Championship by sharing Northwestern Ontario’s rich culture with the World.

Four Worlds

  • The World of Entertainment
  • The World of Arts and Culture
  • The World of Information
  • The World Stage

World of Entertainment

Spend some time listening to and watching the incredibly diverse talented members of our entertainment community.  Street performers will provide a pleasant pause as fans move through the festival site on their way to the games.  Singers, Dancers, Instrumentalist, and all manner of performers will all ‘busk’ for your entertainment.    Performers interested in participating, please contact one of the festival coordinators.

World of Arts and Culture

Local crafters and artists produce a diverse array of unique products.  The World of Arts and Culture will allow them to display and sell their hand-made creations and afford them the opportunity for live demonstrations showing how they create of their art. Artisans interested in participating, please contact one of the festival coordinators.

World Stage

Before the big game, the World Stage will host some of Thunder Bay’s hottest bands or performers.  If you like rock, country, alternative, ska or blues, you’ll have a reason to come back every night for a new sound.  Artists interested in performing, please contact one of the festival coordinators.

World of Information

In and around the festival, World Ambassadors will be available to help out visitors to the games, providing them with information about the community, the people, that artists and the tournament.  The Central Kiosk will be a hub of activity designed to enhance the experience of our guests.

Cultural Publication

In addition to the World components, AHA will produce a Cultural Guide to be used for the Championships.  It will include information on local arts and heritage venues and cultural events offered in our community and northwestern Ontario during the summer and fall of 2010.  This will be the central information piece available at the Information World of Information Kiosk on site and also will be made available around town at hotels and other outlets.  Look for incentives and special offers from the cultural organizations and enterprises that participate in the publication.

Sponsorship Opportunities for Arts focused Partners

The Festival is looking for a few partners who wish to support the cultural side of the tournament.   Please contact Todd Maki for more information.
